Proverbs 14:6
The Simple

Proverbs starts with a purpose statement.  Wisdom comes from God and to reverence God is the beginning of wisdom v.7.  The wise teacher (Solomon) warns the readers then to beware, or walk circumspectly avoiding the allurements of sin and destruction.  Soon he arrives at 1:22 where three categories of people are listed (the simple, the scoffer, and the fools).  Elsewhere in Proverbs the simple and the scoffer are both described as being foolish, and certainly people can move freely throughout these categories.

In our study of the People of Proverbs, we have already looked at the scoffer.  Now we will look at the Simple.
