Matthew 14:13-14
The Searching & Hungry

Last week we began our study of Jesus and what moves His heart to cause Him to stop what He was doing and minister compassion to others.  Jesus was moved by the lost condition of the people of Galilee; they were scattered and worn down by the spiritual barrage of the religious leaders.  The people were struggling under the enormous weight of their sin and they had no relief.  Yet, Jesus who is moved with compassion desires to lift their sin burden.

We see the same compassion from Jesus in Matthew 14, a passage best known for the account of Jesus “feeding the five thousand”.  However, before Jesus ever feeds the people it is the tugging at His heart that compels Him to act in this way.
