Worship is both public and private. Christianity is not an isolationist religion. Very clearly in Scripture, He commands us to gather together and worship Him. We have all seen the negative effects of churches not gathering in our society. At the same time, God redeems and changes us so that we stand out from society. He calls us to be living sacrifices or living temples.
