In the New Testament, the word Rapture does not appear. This is because it is a Latin word, meaning “called up”. The word rapture does not appear, but similar words like “come up” or “meet the Lord in the air” do appear throughout Scripture. In Revelation 4, the apostle John is asked by God to “come up hither”. John will then see the future things. This “calling up” by God is what we refer to as the Rapture.
