The Exodus is a decree from God and nothing will stop it. Nothing will even slow it down, however, God has a lot more to accomplish than just the deliverance of Israel. In hindsight we see:
- God will strengthen the faith of Israel, maturing them as they prepare to exit Egypt
- God will teach the world that He alone is God
- God will humble the Egyptians to the point that they bless Israel
- God will establish a model of redemption that will point to Christ.
- God will prepare Moses to shepherd Israel
Before Moses is ready to lead Israel out of slavery, he must demonstrate that his faith and confidence is in God. God is going to give Moses several opportunities to prove his confidence is in God.
