The term “servant” will appear in the passages of Isaiah that we will be studying. The word does mean “slave” but it is stated in a distinguished manner. The servant is an honored servant with a specific task. As we continue to study these songs of the servant, keep in mind we are speaking of the Messiah who completes the greatest task ever granted.
